Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon is the title of a video game released by Angel on August 27, 1993 for the Super Famicom in Japan. This is a side-scrolling type game, where you'll have to go through levels beating enemies using standard punches/kicks or special attacks for this purpose (Sailor Venus will use her chain as a whip). Each senshi also has two different styles of throwing opponents. Special attacks (two for each senshi are performed by holdin attack button (type 1) or by pressing simultaneously attack and jump buttons (type 2). Five inner senshi are available as playable characters. The game supports one player and two player cooperative mode.

Throughout the game the player will find different objects (bonuses). To pick up any objects stand over them and press the attack button. Food items are for replenishing your life meter, some food items will only replenish some of your life meter while others will refill your life meter. Usually small food items will give you small amounts of life while pieces of cake will refill your life. Roses will refill your life, and if your life is already high when you get them it will give you an extra life. Some items such as stars give you extra lives.

There are five stages in the game, most of them are made up of two sub-stages. At the end of each stage you'll have to fight with a boss (Bakene, Murido, Zoisite, Kunzite, Prince Endymion). The final boss is Queen Beryl.

Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon for SNES was translated into French language and released in France by Bandai S. A., thus being the only Japanese Sailor Moon video game, ever officially (not by fans) translated and released outside of Japan.
